NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WVEC) — The Newport News Public Library is now offering e-memberships.
The online memberships provide partons the immediate access to the Library’s online resources, including e-books, e-audiobooks, and databases.
E-memberships give students, military personnel, and others who travel the ability to use library resources where ever they are.
The e-membership will also allow guests to place requests on physical material in the library while at home. Anyone who already has a Newport News Public Library card already has access to the online recourses.
“Like all libraries, NNPL continues to evolve to meet the needs of a 21st-century community. NNPL offers something for everyone, and we are proud to offer library services and solutions that are not ‘one size fits all.’ The beauty of our new e-card is that it will give the nontraditional library patron immediate access to our digital resources, anytime and anywhere. We are excited to meet our patrons where they are,” said Sonia Alcántara-Antoine, Director of Libraries and Information Services for the City of Newport News, in a press release.
Library cards and e-memberships are available to any resident of the City of Newport News, any verifiable resident of Virginia, and any out-of-state resident with a verifiable local address.
